ROCHESTER, NY - The Mental Health Association of Rochester hosted its 14th Annual Rochester Skyway Open Saturday. The miniature golf tournament is held at the Clarion Hotel. The course stretches into the Convention Center.The event is open to all ages and features wine tasting, a silent auction and a raffle. The Skyway Open is also a fundraiser, bringing in about $25,000 each year. (more…)

CHARLESTON, IL – Lincoln Springs Resort is teeing off for the 2008 season with the start of Polar Bear Leagues on the miniature golf course beginning February 1.
Participants are invited to brave the cold for at least one round per week for five weeks during two sessions. The first session is to run February 1 to March 7 and the second session from March 8 to April 11. (more…)
OKALOOSA ISLAND, FL — Okaloosa County is moving forward with plans to transform the former Island Golf Center into a park.
Southern Restaurant Group, the company that leased the 35-acre site and ran the golf course and miniature putting course, revised its lease with Okaloosa County last year. The amended lease returned the par-3 golf course to the county, while the company continues to operate the miniature golf course.
The par-3 course has been closed since Hurricane Ivan in September 2004. Although the county’s parks advisory committee has not recommended what features the park will include, work has started to clean up the site. (more…)

Tucsonans may soon find out, with the proposal of merging two funky entities - Valley of the Moon and Magic Carpet Golf - in one place to help preserve them both.
State Rep. Steve Farley, D-Tucson, wants to help by applying for status as an Arizona Centennial 2012 Legacy Project for the two icons.
Projects approved by the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission will receive help with fundraising and promotion, the Arizona Centennial Web site said. (more…)
HOUMA, LA — If you’re looking for something fun for your family to do on a cold, rainy day, try your hand at a round of indoor miniature golf.
The 18th Hole, a full 18-hole miniature golf course, opened in Southland Mall a few weeks ago. It’s a new take on golf, one that includes black lights, 3D glasses and pirates.
“We did what we wanted to do,” said Mitzi Dufrene, co-owner of the store. “We found ideas we thought we would like and thought other people would like.” (more…)
